Brazilian jiu-jitsu keeps kids out of trouble from Brazil to Massachusetts

Juliano Coutinho founded Juniko Hyannis to teach kids and adults the martial art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu that he’s spent a lifetime studying in both Brazil and the U.S. He says BJJ kept him off the streets as a kid, and feels it’s doing the same for the youth in and around Hyannis. My article for Cape Cod Times was picked up by AP, and appeared in The Washington Times and other papers:

  1. Jason E. says:

Read the article and I personally have to agree, BJJ helps children. This is coming from a “seasoned” practitioner and long time instructor for a kids BJJ program in a rural community. My personal company routinely donates to programs that focus on “At Risk Youths.” Recently we donated items requested to support the startup of a high school MMA club, as we believe in the shear benefits that BJJ provides.
